Five years after Burmester Audiosysteme had begun to make its mark in the world of Surround with the 007 Surround Processor it unveiled another multichannel device, the 057 Surround Processor. The 057 is capable of processing up to 7.1 channels, possesses symmetrical signal amplification lines and an automatic clipping avoidance feature. Prior to DAC conversion the digital signals are upsampled to 96kHz/24bit. As in the case of 007, the device is completely DC-coupled, in other words, it omits coupling capacitators in the signal path that might affect the quality of the sound.
